- Title: Statistical properties of piecewise expanding interval maps
- Description: Important for the statistical properties of a dynamical system, are it's invariant measure. A special class of invariant measures are the Gibbs measures. To prove properties about these measures one often studies so called (weighted) transfer operators. These are operators connected to the dynamical system, acting on particular Banach spaces of functions. The study of transfer operators is important also for other dynamical aspects than the Gibbs measures. The properties of the transfer operators for piecewise expanding interval maps are well understood, but some properties are not clearly stated in the available literature. The object of this project is to present the theory and properties of weighted transfer operators of piecewise expanding interval maps, and in some cases to give more modern proofs of the results.
