Biography

David Nilsson is a PhD student at Lund University, supervised by professor Cristian Sminchisescu. His field of research is semantic segmentation applied to videos. So far this has resulted in one CVPR publication, see the publication page, where a methodology to adapt per-frame semantic segmentation systems to operate on videos was introduced.

Before starting his PhD, David obtained a MSc in engineering physics degree at the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University.

David participated in many programming competitions during his time as a university student. He was part of the 13th best programming team among northwest European university student. It made the news.

David has been a reviewer at top-tier conferences for computer vision and machine learning, including ICCV 2017, AAAI 2018 and CVPR 2018. He won an outstanding reviewer award at ICCV 2017.

David has been involved in teaching at LTH. He has given lectures and designed assignments on deep learning for machine learning courses. He has also been a teaching assistant in courses on image analysis and computer vision.
