| Abstract English | Research on the teaching and learning of mathematical modelling has attracted an increasing interest during the last 20 years. One concept of special significance in this field of research is the modelling competence, related to and intertwined with other mathematical sub-competences. In this paper some results from the research on the teaching and learning of mathematical modelling are presented and discussed and an example of an introductory course in mathematical modelling for engineers is presented. |
