2012-05-23 – The project presentations

It seems that some people did not get the mail we sent about the project presentations. In short, if you signed up for the morning session it will be at 10:15-12:00 and the afternoon session is at 13:15-15:00, both today. The presentations will take place in MH:309A (math building, 3rd floor).

Hopefully you all get this in time. Sorry about the really short notice, I have no idea why the emails did not arrive.

2012-05-15 – Final Projects now uploaded

Hopefully you all got Claus mail yesterday. If not, there were technical problems with uploading files to our file server. Now they seem to have been resolved, so the final projects can now also be found on the webpage.

2012-05-10 – Final Group Projects

On Tuesday May 15 at 16:00 in MH:227, after the final lecture, we will present the group projects and let you form groups. If you cannot come, make sure that you either send a friend to sign you up or send us a mail and allow us to place you in any group. After Tuesday everyone should be in a group. The project descriptions will be uploaded to the course webpage on Monday May 14 so that you can have a look at them before deciding on a group.

The project presentations will take place in two sessions on Wednesday, May 23rd; you and your group have to attend one of them. The times for the sessions will be agreed upon when we form the groups.

2012-05-03 – Homework 3

The last Homework has now been published. It is due for Tuesday, May 15. Note that this coincides with the last lecture/exercise of the course, so if you cannot present your work at that time make sure that you have an appointment with one of the teachers.

2012-05-03 – send your program

Please send your programs for Training Exercise 10, 11 and 12 to me (dara@maths.lth.se) if it is possible.

Thank you in advance

2012-04-27 – No lecture on May 1

For those who might have missed it, I just wanted to mention that there is no lecture or exercise next Tuesday, May 1, as that is a Swedish holiday. The next lecture is on Thursday, May 3.

2012-04-24 – Homework 2 update

I fixed two minor misprints in Homework 2, about "evenly spaced points" and the relation between k and the "number of interpolation points".

Also, the (obviously wrong) date for presenting the homework is now correct: 26 April, i.e. now on Thursday.

2012-04-19 – Homework 2

Homework 2 has now been published. It is due to be presented on Thursday 26th April (next week). It is quite dependent on the material in today's Exercise 8, so you will probably want to complete that first.

2012-03-29 – Homework 1

The first Homework has now been published. It is due to be presented during the exercise session on April 12. I will give some comments about it towards the end of today's lecture.

2012-03-22 – Course compendium

The course compendium has now been printed. It contains everything that we do in the course and is more focused on mathematics than Lutz book. It costs 100 SEK. If you didn't buy it during today's lecture you can also get it at the lectures next week.

2012-03-21 – Integer division solution

I added a note on the Exercises page on how to configure IPython so that it never performs integer division. If you cannot get it to work, please ask at the next exercise.

2011-03-11 – Schedule Doodle

Please list the times that you are available at http://doodle.com/9fmcpfni5z2bcbbg so that we can fix the schedule during the first lecture.

You should already have received an e-mail about this. If you did not, then please register to get any important information that we send in the future.

Also - there are lab computers available for the exercises, but you probably prefer to use your own computer. Hence, if you have a laptop then you might want to bring it to the first lecture where we will try to make sure that everyone has a working Python environment.

2011-02-09 – First lecture

The first lecture/introduction meeting will be held on Tuesday, 15 March at 15:15.

We meet in front of MH:231 (MH = Mattehouse)
