NUMA11/FMNN01 - Assignments

Here are the weekly assignments. Your solutions could either be handed in to me in class or be dropped in the "NA-mailbox", that is the slot in the book-shelf outside the empty northern corridor on the entrance floor of the Math Building. Email is not accepted.

When you hand in, please separate PF-problems (if any) from E-problems. These problems are graded by different teachers. You do not have to write up your solutions in LaTeX. Handwriting is OK as long as it is legible. Blurry handwriting is not accepted.

A GENERAL MATLAB RULE: The commands inv and pinv are popular among students, but in this course they are not allowed for performance reasons (unless explicitly stated or if one wants the (pseudo)inverse and nothing more). Unitary matrices have simple inverses and more general matrices should, in compositions, be inverted with "backslash" or "forwardslash". See also the MATLAB documentation for reasons not to use inv and the inv blog where MathWorks explains why the command is not removed from the language, although there are good reasons.

Note: The assignments are continuously clarified in response to student questions.
