Introduction to MATLAB, numerical algorithms for linear systems of equations, polynomial interpolation and approximation (least squares), solution of a single nonlinear equation, calculation of integrals (quadrature), solution of initial value problems (ordinary differential equations).
Objectives
The course contributes to the introductory course of Calculations in Biotechnology. Students follow the logical chain of describing an engineering problem, setting up a model, choosing a solution method (often approximative) and interpreting the results.
