Introduction to MATLAB, numerical algorithms for linear systems of equations, polynomial interpolation and approximation (least squares), solution of a single nonlinear equation, calculation of derivatives and integrals (quadrature).
Objectives
The course contributes to the introductory courses of chemical engineering and biotechnology. Students follow the logical chain of describing an engineering problem, setting up a model, choosing a solution method (often approximative) and interpreting the results.
