Naveed Razzaq Butt earned his BS degree in Engineering Sciences from the GIK Institute in 2002. He joined KFUPM as a Research Assistant in 2004 and obtained a Master's degree in Systems Engineering in 2006. From 2006 to 2008, he was with the C2S2 research group at Karlstad University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Statistics from Lund University in 2011. He has also been a visiting researcher at King's College London, and the Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE), Pakistan.

At Lund, he is working as a postdoctoral researcher with Professor Andreas Jakobsson. He is a member of the EU FP7 CONPHIRMER project on detection of fake medicines. He also participates in the teaching of

• Stationary Stochastic Processes

• Time Series Analysis

His research interests include statistical signal processing, detection and estimation of signals from NQR and Raman spectroscopic techniques, and robust beamforming.
