LIGHT TRAFFIC BEHAVIOUR OF SOME CLOSED QUEUEING SYSTEMS Igor Kovalenko STORM Research Centre of the University of North London A rather general closed queueing system is considered describing the behaviour of a redundant repairable system. Under some conditions, an availability of the system is light traffic equivalent in the sense of S. Asmussen to a simpler "reduced" system availability. An interesting phenomenon of the asymptotic independence of the availability of lifetime distributions is established.
