Probabilistisk Säkerhetsanalys av testintervall för Ringhals 1 Lars Antonsson, Magnus Persson Abstract: This project evaluates the possibility to perform more effective periodic testing of stand-by safety systems at the BWR Ringhals 1 (Boiling Water Reactor). A quantitative probabilistic safety assessment is performed in order to evaluate the possibility of reducing the total number of tests while keeping the safety level, i.e. the core damage frequency, at a constant level. Drawn conclusions from the quantitative analysis and literature studies lead to conclusions regarding necessary areas of development of the existing model of Ringhals 1 and a proposal of methodology regarding changes of test intervals prescribed by the Technical Specification of Ringhals 1.
