"Stochastic models for spatial growth and competition"

Abstract: Spatial growth means the progress of some kind of growing 
phenomenon in some kind of space. Examples are a forest fire spreading 
in the woods and a germ colony expanding on a laboratory glass. Spatial 
competition arises when two different phenomena grow simultaneously in 
the same space. I will describe some of the simplest stochastic models 
for spatial growth and competition and some results related to these 
models.
