·         Download R from r-project.org

Download the RStudio IDE from rstudio.com

·         If you have no or very little experience with R, go through "A sample session" in http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-intro.pdf

·          The main aim is getting used to the simple statistical machinery of R: paired and un-paired T-tests, Wilcoxons rank sum test, normal probability plots
