cis is an interactive UNIX script for using the on-line database for the Current Index to Statistics. Among other things, it has facilities for: searching for records matching a given pattern; refining or expanding search results; previewing the results of a search at the terminal; saving and retrieving search results; displaying and printing search results in TeX format. To start, type "cis" in response to your UNIX prompt, and when you see the "cis>" prompt, type "help" for an overview of what you can do with cis. Each cis command is fully documented on-line. The man page gives the command line options.
