For my own amusement I put together a list of the number of olympic medals
per capita. That the USA wins the medal league with 103 medals in Athens 2004 is impressive in itself, but with almost 300 million people (which is more than 30 times the number in Sweden and Sweden still gained seven medals) you can rightly think that they should have a lot of medals. I sent this statistics to the local newspaper Sydsvenskan on August 30 2004 but they just changed the numbers a bit and published it the next day without thanking me or mentioning my name.
