Up-to-date information about the course in Distribution Theory
Course book
Strichartz R.: A Guide to Distribution Theory and Fourier Transforms, World Scientific, 2003.
Due to a misunderstanding, the lokal bookstore (Akademibokhandeln) has no copies of the course book.
But it can be obtained on the internet, at Bokus (368 SEK) and amazon.co.uk (£ 23,75). Some rumours claim that at least the first part of it can be found on Google Books.

Feb 1: Read Chapter 1 and 2.1. Work with exercises 1-12 in 1.4 (pages 10-11).

Feb 8: Read Chapter 2 (2.5 cursory). Work with exercises 1-7 and 14-17 in 2.6, and 13-14 in 1.4.

Feb 15: Read Chapter 3 (3.4 and 3.5 cursory). Work with exercises 1-6 in 3.6, and 8-11 in 2.6.

Feb 22: Read Chapter 4.1 and 4.2 (Examples 4 and 5 cursory). Work with exercises 1-3 and 6-8 in 4.4, 8, 13, 14, 17 in 3.6, and 20 in 2.6.

March 1: Read Chapter 4.3-5.2. Work with exercises 5, 9-12 in 4.4, and 1, 2, 7, 9 in 5.5.

March 8: Read Chapter 5.3-6.1. Work with exercises 4-6, 10, 11 in 5.5 and 2, 3, 5 in 6.9.

March 15: Read Chapter 6.2-6.3. Work with exercises 14, 15 in 5.5 and 9, 11, 14-16 in 6.9.

March 22: Read Chapter 6.4-6.5. Work with exercises 17, 19-21, 23, 25, 31-33 in 6.9.

No class on March 29 because of Easter break, moved to April 6 at 10.15-12.00 in room 332A.

April 6: Read Chapter 6.6-6.7 (6.8 is cursory). Work with exercises 26-29, 34, 35, 37 in 6.9.
OBS: errors on page 102, the distributions in the examples can be extended!

April 12: Read the handout about tensor products, the Kernel Theorem, pull-back and convolutions. The proofs of Theorems 5.2.1, 6.1.5 and 2.1.8 are cursory.

April 19: Read Chapter 7.3-7.4, the rest of Chapter 7 is cursory. Work with exercises 5, 14, 16, 18-22 in 7.9.

April 26: Read Chapter 8.1-8.2, Theorem 8.1.3 is cursory. Work with exercises 1, 3-6, 8, 10 in 8.8.

May 3: Read Chapter 8.3. Work with exercises 11-15, 17-18 in 8.8.

May 10: Read Chapter 8.4 (OBS: the composition formula is wrong). Work with exercises 19-25 in 8.8.

May 17: Read Chapter 8.5. Work with exercises 26 and 28-34 in 8.8.

May 24: Read Chapter 8.6-8.7 (8.7 is cursory). Work with exercises 35-38 in
8.8 and the Exam May 28, 2005.
