About
The main topic of this Intensive program is Interpolation Theory and its applications and interplay with Non-commutative integration, Operator algebras and Non-commutative Geometry.
The program is directed towards PhD students as well as Postdocs and other colleagues.
The program consists of
PhD course by Professor Michael Cwikel from Technion, Haifa, Israel
complemented by a series of lectures by other guest experts from outside Lund as well as by Lund mathematicians (see program bellow).
The course is aimed to provide introduction to the main ideas, tools, foundations of Interpolation theory
with focus on two important papers by Jaak Peetre and Gunnar Sparr
J. Peetre, G. Sparr, Interpolation of normed Abelian groups, Ann. Mat. Pura Appl., 92 (1972), pp. 217-262.
J. Peetre, G. Sparr, Interpolation and non-commutative integration. Ann. Mat. Pura Appl. (4) 104 (1975), 187--207.
All lectures are aimed first of all for PhD students and postdocs and also for other colleagues interested to learn the subject.
PhD students attending the lectures will recieve for this PhD course 3 ECT credits (3 högskolepoäng) after solving a home exercise in connection to the material presented in the lectures.
Organizers
Sergei Silvestrov, Gunnar Sparr (Lund University) and Johan Öinert (Copenhagen University).
Where and when
The lectures will take place at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Lund University, between September 30 and October 5, 2010.
