Title: "Stochastic fluid networks driven by local times of Levy processes" Abstract: Levy networks are analogs of Brownian networks, arising as diffusion approximations when heavy tails are present. In this talk we will briefly summarize some approximation results and focus attention to the analysis of a fluid queue driven by the local time of a reflected Levy process. This can be thought of as a model of the low priority queue in a system with 2 priorities. Although the process is not Markovian, we manage, by combining fluctuation theory and Palm calculus to obtain explicit results for the distribution of various quantities in steady state. This is joint work with Andreas Kyprianou and Paavo Salminen.
