Research Interests
I have been an active researcher in applied mathematics, especially
digital image analysis and computer vision, since 1991. My main
interests are geometrical problems, such as reconstruction, multiple
view geometry and invariants for recognition, and medical image
analysis, such as segmentation and classification.
Selected publications
I work part time at the company
CellaVision with problems
related to microscopic analysis of blood smear images, such as
autofocus methods, segmentation and classification.
I also work part time at the company
WeSpot with problems related to
surveillance using digital image analysis, such as event detection,
illumination independent operators and classification problems.
I am currently involved in the following projects:
- VISIRE(Virtual
Image-processing System for Intelligent Reconstruction of
3D-Environments),
- INVEIW(Interactive and
Immersive Video for Multiple View Images),
- DV(Dynamic
Vision)
- JIG(Junior
Individual Grant from SSF)
- CellaVision AB(Computerized
Analysis of Human Blood Cells from Microscopic Images, using Digital
Image Processing)
I am currently supervising the following PhD-students:
- Fredrik
Kahl, Tekn. Lic. (VISIRE: 3D-reconstruction, auto-calibration)
- Henrik
Malm, M. Sc. (DV: hand-eye-calibration, vision and control)
- Björn
Nilsson, Med. Dr. (CellaVision: level-set methods, fast marching)
- Nicolas
Guilbert, M. Sc. (VISIRE, 3D-reconstruction, dense-depth-methods)
If you are interesting in any of these subjects, please contact me.
We are looking for more PhD-students.
