The 17th European Conference on Mathematics for Industry 2012

ECMI 2012 will reinforce the role of mathematics as an overarching resource for industry and business interpreted in their broadest sense. It will emphasize mathematics as being the backbone of research in industry and being a catalyst for innovation both in the academy and industry.

ECMI 2012 will attract leading figures from business, science and academia, promote the application of innovative mathematics to industry, and emphasise industrial sectors that offer the most exciting opportunities for mathematicians to provide insight and new ideas.

The European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI) has the following aims:

  • To promote the use of mathematical models in industry.
  • To educate and train mathematicians to work collaboratively.
  • To operate on a European scale.
Visit ECMI at www.ecmi-indmath.org.

This meeting will be the 17th European Conference on Mathematics for Industry organized by ECMI and it celebrates ECMIs 25th anniversary. There will be several festivities and special sessions celebrating the history of ECMI and discussing its role in the future for European research and innovation in academia and industry.

Previous conferences have been:

  • ECMI 2010 Wuppertal
  • ECMI 2008 London
  • ECMI 2006 Madrid
