Centre for Mathematical Sciences

Lund Center of Mathematical Sciences, "Matematikcentrum" joins classical theoretical mathematical subjects with applied mathematics,
mathematical statistics and scientific computing under one roof.

Within the the faculty of science and Lund Institute of Technology (LTH) the center stands for all education in mathematics on all levels. Over 5000 students take some of our over 120 courses every year.
Our aim are modern, fascinating courses. The centre produced many course books and our teachers received awards for their pedagogical skills.

Teaching and research are two sides of the same coin. The center has a continuous research line in functional analysis and differential equations for more than six decades. New research subjects like computer vision,
financial mathematics and simulation techniques were established in the house on high international level.

Senior researchers and young PhD students form the creative academic athmosphere, which becomes also visible at the great variety of conferences and special topic workshops organized every year.
